I vividly recall the pivotal moment when I acquired my first EDC (Everyday Carry) training kit and began incorporating it into every facet of resistance training at the academy. My commitment has always been to integrate resistance training across all crucial aspects of combat, including knife and stick fighting, Thai Boxing (striking), Pummeling (standing grappling), and Grappling and ground fighting. The journey took a significant turn when I included firearms in these diverse training environments. Initially, this integration proved to be incredibly challenging and frustrating. That was over 17 years ago.
For an extended period, I struggled to adapt to the new dynamics that firearms and blades introduced into my well-established routines. It became clear that I needed to deconstruct my approach and revisit the foundational elements of each combat style. The presence of a firearm and blade necessitated a thorough revision of basic mechanics, techniques, and even the underlying principles and beliefs I held about combat.
As I delved deeper into this transformative process, I realized that the various systems I had dedicated decades to mastering were not inherently designed with firearms and blades in mind. This revelation prompted a profound reevaluation and adaptation of my techniques, pushing me to evolve and develop a more holistic and versatile approach to combat training. The journey was arduous but enlightening, reshaping my physical practices and philosophical outlook on the art of combat and self-defense.
My alterations were not just incremental; they marked a significant shift in my methodology. Each change, whether it was adjusting a stance or rethinking a strategy, contributed to creating a new curriculum.
The process was akin to working in a laboratory, with each training session as an experiment. I tested theories, modified techniques, and continuously evaluated the effectiveness of each new element I introduced. This iterative process was both rigorous and enlightening, pushing the boundaries of traditional combat training methods.
Over time, this dedicated pursuit culminated in the birth of something entirely new and unique. The curriculum emerged as a synthesis of time-tested combat principles and innovative adaptations tailored to incorporate the complexities and realities of engaging with firearms and blades.
This, coupled with my extensive experience in training law enforcement and protection experts and collaborating with military personnel, culminated in creating the C-Tac curriculum and, subsequently, establishing the C-Tac association. C-Tac was meticulously designed to address and fill the voids present in most martial arts systems. Recognizing that traditional martial arts often overlook certain practical aspects of modern combat, C-Tac aims to provide comprehensive information and techniques that are missing from conventional training. The curriculum enhances and completes the martial artist’s knowledge by integrating advanced strategies, real-world scenarios, and critical thinking into the training process, ensuring a well-rounded and practical education.

Where can I purchase this everyday carry for self defense training? I live in Canada so hopefully it’s not an actual firearm because I won’t be able to purchase it.
Thanks
