Scope and Data Controller

This Privacy Policy applies to the website located at sifualanbaker.com and the related online services, account areas, courses, memberships, forms, event registrations, newsletters, community features, and digital content that link to this Policy. In this Policy, the terms “Company,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Alan Baker Consultations, Inc., a Georgia corporation.

For purposes of applicable data protection law, Alan Baker Consultations, Inc. is the controller or business responsible for personal information collected through the services, except when another party is identified as independently responsible for its own processing.

This Policy does not apply to an independently operated website, business, training host, social media platform, or third-party service merely because we link to it.

Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with us. We may collect the following categories of personal information.

Information From Other Sources

We may receive information from payment processors, membership and course systems, email providers, event and form providers, social media platforms, referral partners, training hosts, fraud-prevention services, and other vendors that support our services. We may combine this information with information collected directly from you when permitted by law.

How We Use Personal Information

We may use personal information to:

• Provide, operate, maintain, personalize, and improve the website, memberships, courses, events, products, and services.
• Create and administer accounts, authenticate users, manage subscriptions, track course access and progress, and provide member benefits.
• Process orders, payments, recurring charges, refunds, and transaction records.
• Register participants, confirm waivers or permissions, coordinate events, and provide requested accommodations where reasonably possible.
• Respond to questions, provide customer and technical support, and manage our relationship with you.
• Send transactional messages, service announcements, course updates, account notices, and administrative communications.
• Send newsletters and promotional email when permitted by law and consistent with your choices.
• Measure website and email performance, understand audience interests, conduct research, and improve content and services.
• Maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, diagnose technical problems, enforce agreements, and protect our users, Company, and others.
• Comply with legal, tax, accounting, recordkeeping, regulatory, and law-enforcement obligations.
• Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims and resolve disputes.
• Support a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable safeguards.
• Carry out another purpose disclosed when information is collected or otherwise with your consent.

Legal Bases for Processing

Where laws such as the European Union or United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation require a legal basis, we rely on one or more of the following:

• Performance of a contract: processing needed to provide a purchased product, membership, course, event, account, or requested service.
• Legitimate interests: operating and improving our services, communicating with users, maintaining security, preventing fraud, keeping appropriate business records, and protecting legal rights, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
• Consent: processing based on permission, such as certain marketing communications, optional cookies, or information voluntarily supplied for a specific purpose. Consent may be withdrawn without affecting earlier lawful processing.
• Legal obligations: processing needed to comply with tax, accounting, consumer-protection, safety, regulatory, or other legal duties.
• Vital interests or public interest: processing that is reasonably necessary to protect an individual or respond to an emergency, where recognized by applicable law.

Cookies, Analytics, and Similar Technologies

We and our service providers may use cookies, pixels, tags, local storage, and similar technologies. Cookies are small data files stored on or accessed through your device. They may persist for a single browsing session or remain until they expire or are deleted.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, which may operate through Google tags or Google Tag Manager, to help measure website traffic and use. Google Analytics may collect device and browser information, IP-derived location, interactions, and cookie or similar identifiers. Google processes this information on our behalf and may also process information as described in its own terms and privacy materials. We do not intend to send names, email addresses, complete payment information, or other information that Google recognizes as personally identifiable information to Google Analytics.

You may learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Google also offers a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Your Cookie Choices

Where required, we will request consent before using nonessential cookies. You may use any cookie preference tool made available on the website and may also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may prevent account, checkout, media, or other website features from working correctly. Cookie choices are specific to the browser and device you use.

Some browsers transmit “Do Not Track” signals. Because there is not a uniform industry standard for responding to those signals, the website may not respond to them. We will honor legally required browser-based opt-out preference signals when and to the extent applicable to our practices and obligations.

Membership Accounts, Courses, and Payments

Membership and course features may be administered through WordPress and MemberPress. These systems may store registration information, account details, membership status, subscriptions, course access, progress, and related records in our website database and connected services.

Payments may be processed by Stripe or another identified payment provider. When you submit payment information, it is transmitted to the payment provider and processed under that provider’s terms and privacy notice. We ordinarily receive transaction confirmation, payment status, card brand, limited card details such as the last four digits, billing information, and information needed to administer the transaction, but we do not ordinarily receive or store complete payment card numbers. Stripe may use transaction and device information for payment processing, fraud prevention, security, regulatory compliance, and other purposes described in the Stripe Privacy Center.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for notifying us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

Email and Marketing Communications

We may use Mailchimp or another email provider to maintain subscription lists and send newsletters, announcements, educational content, event information, and marketing email. The provider may process your contact information, subscription status, audience tags, and email engagement data. Mailchimp is part of Intuit and may process information as described in the Intuit Global Privacy Statement.

You may unsubscribe from promotional email by using the unsubscribe link in the message or contacting us. Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent us from sending non-promotional communications necessary to administer an account, membership, purchase, event, safety matter, or legal obligation.

We do not currently operate a promotional SMS or text-message marketing program. If we introduce one, we will publish appropriate terms and privacy disclosures before enrollment begins.

How We Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose personal information for legitimate business and legal purposes to the following categories of recipients:

• Website, membership, and course providers, including WordPress, MemberPress, hosting providers, database providers, and technical administrators.
• Payment and transaction providers, including Stripe, financial institutions, accounting providers, and fraud-prevention services.
• Communication providers, including Mailchimp, email delivery providers, customer-support tools, and form providers.
• Analytics and technical providers, including Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, performance monitoring, backups, security, and error-detection services.
• Embedded-media and platform providers, including YouTube, Spotify, and social platforms when you choose to interact with their content.
• Event hosts, instructors, contractors, and operational partners when reasonably needed to deliver a requested event, program, product, or service.
• Professional advisers, including attorneys, accountants, insurers, consultants, and auditors.
• Government authorities, courts, regulators, and other parties when we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, legal process, safety needs, or the protection of rights.
• Parties to a business transaction involving a proposed or completed merger, financing, reorganization, acquisition, sale, transfer, bankruptcy, or similar event.
• Other parties at your direction or with your consent.

Service providers are permitted to process information for the services they provide and may have independent obligations or limited independent purposes described in their own privacy notices. We do not control the privacy practices of an independent third party.

Sale, Sharing, and Targeted Advertising

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not currently use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising as those terms are defined by applicable U.S. state privacy laws, and we do not currently use advertising pixels such as Meta Pixel or Google Ads conversion tracking.

Privacy laws may define “sale” or “sharing” more broadly than an exchange for money. If our practices change in a way that creates an opt-out right, we will update this Policy and provide a legally required method for exercising that right before or when the change takes effect.

Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing services, administering memberships and course access, maintaining transaction and accounting records, communicating with users, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, preventing fraud, maintaining security, preserving appropriate business records, and satisfying legal obligations.

Retention periods vary according to the type of information, the relationship, legal requirements, operational needs, and the sensitivity of the information. Information may remain for a limited period in backups, archives, security logs, or records that cannot reasonably be isolated, and will remain protected until deleted or overwritten through ordinary processes. We may retain de-identified or aggregated information that no longer reasonably identifies an individual.

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, destruction, loss, alteration, or disclosure. Safeguards may include access controls, authentication measures, encryption in transit where supported, software and plugin maintenance, backups, monitoring, service-provider controls, and procedures for responding to suspected incidents.

No website, transmission, storage system, or security measure can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You provide information and use online services at your own risk. Nothing in this Policy limits any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be limited.

International Processing and Transfers

The Company is based in the United States. Personal information may be collected, stored, accessed, or otherwise processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate. Privacy laws in those locations may differ from those in your country.

Where applicable law requires transfer safeguards, we and our service providers may rely on recognized mechanisms such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, contractual commitments, or an applicable data privacy framework. By using the services, you understand that information may be processed outside your country, subject to the protections required by applicable law.

Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on your location and subject to legal conditions and exceptions, you may have the right to:

• Request confirmation of whether we process your personal information.
• Request access to or a copy of personal information we maintain about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Request deletion of personal information.
• Request restriction of or object to certain processing.
• Request data portability where applicable.
• Withdraw consent for future processing based on consent.
• Opt out of marketing communications.
• Close your account, subject to records we may lawfully retain.
• Complain to an applicable data protection or privacy authority.
• Appeal our decision on a privacy request where applicable law provides that right.

To protect personal information, we may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and authority. We will use verification information only for that purpose. We may deny or limit a request when permitted by law, including when we cannot verify the request, a legal exception applies, or fulfilling the request would adversely affect another person’s rights.

Additional U.S. State Privacy Disclosures

Residents of certain U.S. states may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of personal information, and to opt out of certain sales, sharing, targeted advertising, or profiling. The availability and scope of these rights depend on the law, whether the law applies to us, and applicable exceptions.

During the preceding 12 months, we may have collected the categories described in Section 2, including identifiers and contact details; account and authentication information; commercial and transaction information; internet or electronic activity; approximate geolocation; communications and user content; course, membership, and event information; parent or guardian information; and other information voluntarily provided. We use and disclose these categories for the purposes and to the recipients described in Sections 3 and 8.

We do not discriminate against an individual for exercising a privacy right. Where permitted, an authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf. We may require proof of the agent’s authority and may ask you to verify your identity directly. If we deny a request and applicable law provides a right to appeal, you may appeal by replying to our decision or contacting us with the subject line “Privacy Appeal.”

We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that require a separate right to limit under California law. If that practice changes, we will update our disclosures and provide any required choice.

Children and Teenage Users

The services are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13. A child under 13 may not create an account, enroll independently, participate in community features, or submit personal information through the website.

A person who is 18 or older may create and manage an account independently. A person who is 13 through 17 may use age-appropriate services only with the involvement, permission, and supervision of a parent or legal guardian and in accordance with our terms and program requirements. We may collect parent or guardian information and authorization reasonably needed to administer the teenager’s participation.

If we learn that personal information was collected online from a child under 13 in a manner subject to the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, we will take appropriate steps to delete it and address the account, unless retention is legally permitted or required. A parent or guardian who believes a child under 13 has provided personal information should contact us promptly.

Forums, Comments, and Community Features

Information you place in a public or member-visible profile, forum, comment area, review, group, or community feature may be visible to other users or the public, depending on the feature and settings. Other people may copy, quote, photograph, or redistribute information you choose to make visible. Do not post information you want to keep confidential.

We may moderate, restrict, preserve, or remove community content consistent with our terms, legal obligations, safety needs, and operational policies. Deleting an account may not remove content already copied by others or information that we are permitted or required to retain.

Third-Party Websites and Embedded Content

The website may link to or embed content from third parties, including YouTube, Spotify, social media platforms, payment services, event providers, affiliate resources, and other websites. A third party may collect information when you view, select, or interact with its content, particularly if you are signed into that service.

Third parties operate under their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy, security, availability, content, or practices of an independently controlled service. Review the provider’s privacy notice before supplying personal information.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in our services, technology, providers, practices, or legal obligations. The “Last updated” date identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated by a reasonably appropriate method, which may include posting a prominent notice, providing an account notice, or sending email when required by law.

Your continued use of the services after an updated Policy takes effect is subject to the updated Policy, but we will obtain consent when applicable law requires consent for a change. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
