Event Registration, Cancellation, Transfer and Refund Policy

Clear expectations help participants plan with confidence. Please review this policy before registering for a seminar, workshop, training camp, certification program, or other live event.

Quick Policy Summary

Know your options before you register.

The date a written cancellation request is received determines eligibility.

91 days or more

Eligible for a full refund.

31 through 90 days

Eligible for a 50 percent refund or a 100 percent event credit valid for 12 months.

30 days or fewer

Refunds, credits, transfers, and rescheduling are not available.

Organizer cancellation

Eligible for a full refund of the registration amount paid.

Event specific terms displayed on a registration page before payment take precedence when they differ from this standard policy. Events sold and operated by an independent host are governed by that host’s terms.

Section 01

Policy Scope

This policy applies to seminars, workshops, training camps, certification programs, and other live events for which registration is sold directly through sifualanbaker.com or the event listing identifies Alan Baker or The Capable Academy as the organizer, unless the event listing states different terms.

Section 02

Registration and Payment

A registration is confirmed only after the required payment is received and a registration confirmation is issued. Full payment is required unless the event listing expressly offers an approved deposit or payment plan.

If a scheduled payment fails or an outstanding balance remains unpaid after notice, the participant’s place may be released. A place is not guaranteed until all stated payment requirements have been satisfied.

Section 03

Attendee Cancellations

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to [email protected]. The date the written request is received determines refund or credit eligibility. Please retain a copy of the request for your records.

Section 04

Event Credits

An approved event credit remains valid for 12 months from the date it is issued. It may be applied to another eligible event offered by the same organizer, subject to availability and any stated prerequisites.

Credits are nontransferable, have no cash value, and expire if they are not used within the 12 month period.

Section 05

Registration Transfers and Substitutions

A participant may request to substitute another person by submitting a written request at least 14 days before the event. Every substitution requires approval, and the replacement participant must satisfy all age, experience, safety, certification, and other event prerequisites.

Registrations may not be resold. An approved substitution changes the attendee name but does not create a refund or credit right.

Section 06

No Shows, Late Arrivals and Partial Attendance

Participants who do not attend, arrive late, leave early, or complete only part of an event are not entitled to a refund, rescheduling, or prorated credit. Event completion requirements may also affect certificates, rankings, or continuing education recognition where applicable.

Section 07

Organizer Cancellation

If the organizer cancels an event, the participant may receive a full refund of the registration amount paid or elect to transfer the full amount to a future eligible event offered by the same organizer.

Section 08

Postponed or Rescheduled Events

If an event is postponed or rescheduled rather than canceled, the original registration automatically remains valid for the new date. If the participant cannot attend, any cancellation or credit request will be handled under the standard timetable in this policy using the rescheduled event date, unless the event listing or applicable law requires different treatment.

Section 09

Location, Schedule, Curriculum or Instructor Changes

The organizer may make reasonable changes to the training location, daily schedule, curriculum, facilities, or supporting instructors when needed to deliver the event safely and effectively.

A change to the event dates or a move outside the originally announced metropolitan area is considered a material change. The notice describing a material change will explain any options available to registered participants. Routine schedule adjustments, facility changes within the same area, curriculum refinements, and changes to supporting instructors are not ordinarily considered material changes.

Section 10

Weather, Emergencies and Circumstances Beyond Reasonable Control

Severe weather, natural disasters, government restrictions, facility closures, travel disruptions, instructor illness, public safety conditions, and other circumstances beyond reasonable control may require an event to be relocated, postponed, rescheduled, modified, or canceled.

If the event is canceled, the organizer cancellation terms above apply. If the event is postponed or rescheduled, the postponed event terms above apply. Participants will be notified as soon as reasonably practical.

Section 11

Travel and Accommodation Expenses

Participants are responsible for their own airfare, fuel, lodging, meals, rental vehicles, and other travel expenses. The organizer is not responsible for those expenses if an event is changed, postponed, rescheduled, or canceled.

Participants are encouraged to purchase refundable travel arrangements or suitable travel insurance.

Section 12

Refund Method and Processing Time

Approved refunds will normally be returned to the original payment method within 5 to 10 business days after approval. The participant’s bank or payment provider may require additional time before the funds appear.

Section 13

Event Specific Terms

Certain certification programs, guest instructor events, limited capacity programs, or destination events may have special terms. Any special terms will be displayed on the applicable event or registration page before payment. When those terms differ from this standard policy, the event specific terms control.

Section 14

How to Request a Cancellation, Transfer, Credit or Refund

Send the written request to [email protected] and include:

  • Your full name
  • The event name and date
  • Your order or registration number
  • The specific request being made
  • Your current contact information
Section 15

Acceptance of This Policy

By completing registration and payment, the participant confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted this policy and any event specific terms displayed before purchase.
