Seminars

There are three options to choose from

You can choose the one that best fits your needs

Workshops

A workshop is a presentation training where you learn a specific topic or complete a particular task. A workshop involves hands-on learning, meaning participants actively engage in the learning process.

Workshops are delivered to small groups of 10 to 25 individuals. They usually have atopic or specific questions the participants will work on throughout the event.

Additionally, topics are presented in an accessible way so that you can take away new skills and ideas. Usually shorter than seminars, workshops are richly practical and interactive.

Seminars

A seminar is a live presentation of a set topic where all participants can ask questions and interact to understand the subject better. In a seminar, the instructor presents information for the entire session and answers questions posed by the attendees.
Seminars are beneficial because they provide an opportunity to explore a topic in depth. These events can serve as a vehicle for exploration and discovery and allows all participants time to engage with the instructor and each other in an interactive environment. Team Building

Team building constructs stronger bonds among the members of a group. The individuals respect each other and their differences and share common goals and expectations. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is an interactive endeavour. We depend heavily on our training partners. Because of this, a team’s whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Group cohesion is a multi-dimensional idea; it involves multiple aspects which must be balanced. Team building processes must be adapted to meet the team’s and its members’ varying needs.

What People Are Saying

Approaching my 40th year training and teaching some form of Combatives program. I have had the opportunity to work with and team with some of the best in the world when it comes to Reality based training. I am a firm believer in the idea that anything worth having has a price; and the price is work. But how smart and efficient that work is can be defined by it’s tactics.  Alan Baker has taught me more about the mechanics of real combat than anyone. It is a golden opportunity for any person or academy to have him teach a seminar or include one of his signature programs at your training center.

If you are looking for someone to do a seminar at your school, business or just a group of friends, Coach Alan Baker is an excellent choice. His knowledge, method of delivery and resources will give your students / employees valuable information to apply to their own work outs and daily lives.  Having studied several different martial arts as well as real world application makes him someone who has the ability to share with you what will work and what won’t. Coach Baker is capable of giving you knowledge, from different angles and is someone who has tested things in different environments, which may change how you handle the situation. His discipline, work ethic and continually striving to better himself make him a great motivator for others to do the same. He is informative and approachable with an enormous amount of knowledge that he is willing to share. My students look forward to seeing him every year.

“We have been privileged to have had close exposure to Sifu Alan Baker’s “Living Mechanics” Jiu Jitsu concepts and principles for quite some time. His diverse expertise and perspective have been very insightful and made absolute sense in terms of the Principles and their application. Our interaction with these methods took our Jiu Jitsu to a new level and compelled us to share with our students at GRACIE Jiu Jitsu Athens. We’ve sponsored Alan Baker for seminars at our academy on multiple occasions and each and every time the experience has been a positive growth and skill progression event for both us as instructors and for our students. We are thankful for having the opportunity to attend these training seminars and highly recommend that anyone who has the opportunity host a seminar for their academy for their benefit as well as for their students progress.”

~ Randy McElwee, Owner / Director, GRACIE Jiu Jitsu Athens

“We I have attended seminars by Professor Alan Baker for 10 plus years in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Although the seminars focused on Jiu Jitsu, Professor Baker brings in a wealth of experience from the other martial arts he has mastered to help enhance and explain the techniques that he is teaching. I have attended his seminars as a beginner as well as an advanced student in Jiu Jitsu. I have always benefited from Professor Baker’s teaching. He makes the most basic techniques profound and the most advanced techniques doable for everyone at the seminar. He individualizes concepts and techniques for each of his students. You really feel like you are having a private session with a master in a seminar setting. You will always learn something new at his seminars and classes. I highly recommend any class or seminar with Professor Baker. You will not be disappointed!

“Professor Baker brings all of the tools to the table when it comes to self defense and tactical seminars. Weather its firearms bladed weapons or hand to hand Alan baker brings a proficiency in the ability to transfer knowledge weather you may be law enforcement or civilian. That few can. When attending any of the seminars hosted or taught by prof. Alan they always ensure the participants come away with a comprehensive understanding and application of the subjects taught. Alan’s ability to Convey knowledge and connect with participants no matter the threshold of there knowledge on the subject is why he is a sought after clinician. His command presence is what gives each participant the experience feeling as though the seminar was rather a one on one lesson on the subject,”
