Meet ALAN BAKER
Alan Baker is a globally recognized martial arts and self-defense instructor with over 45 years of continuous training and more than three decades of professional teaching experience. His background spans more than 25 systems, giving him a rare, well-rounded perspective across striking, grappling, weapons, and real-world personal protection.
Alan has deep experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Combat Submission Wrestling and Catch Wrestling, Jeet Kune Do, Thai Boxing, Chinese Boxing, Burmese Boxing, Wing Chun Kung Fu and Shaolin-influenced Kung Fu, Filipino Kali, Indonesian Silat, MMA, and the Keysi Fighting Method. That multi-system foundation shapes his teaching style and is what makes his seminars different: he doesn’t just show techniques, he teaches the mechanics, timing, positioning, and tactics that make those techniques work under pressure, especially against larger, stronger, or more aggressive opponents.
Because he understands how these systems connect, Alan is known for organizing complex material into clear, usable training progressions that students and coaches can apply immediately. Whether you attend for BJJ, Judo, JKD, Muay Thai, Wing Chun, Kali, Silat, KFM, or submission grappling, you’ll gain functional skill, sharper strategy, and a training blueprint you can take back to your academy.
Beyond the martial arts world, Alan has trained and advised Fortune 500 corporate protection teams, law enforcement agencies, and SWAT units in defensive tactics, countermeasures, and weapons-related problem sets. That professional experience reinforces the core of his seminar approach: practical, structured, and built for the world as it is.

★★★★★
He makes the most basic techniques profound and the most advanced techniques doable for everyone at the seminar. He individualizes concepts and techniques for each of his students. You really feel like you are having a private session with a master in a seminar setting. I highly recommend any class or seminar with Professor Baker.

“Professor Baker brings all of the tools to the table when it comes to self defense and tactical seminars. Weather its firearms bladed weapons or hand to hand Alan baker brings a proficiency in the ability to transfer knowledge weather you may be law enforcement or civilian. That few can. When attending any of the seminars hosted or taught by prof. Alan they always ensure the participants come away with a comprehensive understanding and application of the subjects taught. Alan’s ability to Convey knowledge and connect with participants no matter the threshold of there knowledge on the subject is why he is a sought after clinician. His command presence is what gives each participant the experience feeling as though the seminar was rather a one on one lesson on the subject,”
