SUMMARY:Chattanooga/Ooltewah Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Seminar
DESCRIPTION:Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Seminar in Ooltewah\, TN\nWith Professor Alan Baker\nIf you want tight mechanics\, pressure-tested fundamentals\, and a clear strategy you can actually apply\, this seminar is for you. We’re bringing a focused Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training day to Ooltewah Jiu-Jitsu Academy with material designed to work against real resistance\, including larger\, stronger\, more aggressive opponents.\n \n\nEvent Details\n\nDate: February 14th\, 2026\nTime: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM\nLocation: Ooltewah Jiu-Jitsu Academy\nAddress: 6711 Mountain View\, Ooltewah\, TN 37363\nCost: Contact the academy for pricing\nRegister: Contact the academy to reserve your spot\nQuestions: ooltewahjja@gmail.com\n\nWhat This Seminar Is\nThis is not a “here’s 40 techniques” kind of seminar. My focus is tactics and game strategy\, built on mechanics\, timing\, and positional science. You’ll learn how to solve problems\, not just memorize moves\, so your jiu-jitsu holds up when the other person is strong\, fast\, and not cooperating. \nWhat We’ll Cover\nExact content will be adjusted to the skill level in the room\, but the training will revolve around: \n\nThe science of position: alignment\, posture\, base\, and pressure\nMovement that creates advantage: angles\, wedges\, frames\, and timing\nEscapes and recoveries that keep you from getting stuck underneath\nControl and transitions that lead to dominant positions\nHigh-percentage attacks that come from control\, not hope\nSimple tactical decision-making you can use in rolling immediately\n\nWho This Seminar Is For\n\nBeginners who want a faster learning curve and fewer bad habits\nIntermediate students who want better efficiency and sharper mechanics\nAdvanced students who want higher-level problem solving and detail\nCoaches who want a structured way to teach mechanics and strategy\n\nWhat To Bring\n\nGi and belt\nWater\nNotebook (optional)\nA readiness to train and learn\n\nAbout Professor Alan Baker\nAlan Baker is a globally recognized martial arts and self-defense instructor\, author\, and speaker. Known as the “Agent of Change\,” he has trained for over four decades and has taught professionally since 1990\, working with thousands of students over the past 30+ years. \nProfessor Baker is a 4th Degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt under Pedro Sauer\, a Full Instructor under Erik Paulson\, and a 2nd Degree Judo Black Belt under Master Bob Byrd. His approach to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is built on a broad base of study across multiple martial arts\, giving him a wider lens than many single-system instructors. That depth translates into a stronger understanding of the “human machine” and how to teach positioning and movement so the art works under pressure\, especially against bigger\, more vigorous opponents. \nIn addition\, Alan’s background working with law enforcement and the military\, along with 18 years as a bodyguard\, gives him a serious self-defense lens. This seminar will stay rooted in solid jiu-jitsu\, but it will be taught with the realism and accountability that comes from real-world experience. \nReserve Your Spot\nCost and registration are handled directly through Ooltewah Jiu-Jitsu Academy. To reserve your place\, contact the academy. \nQuestions: ooltewahjja@gmail.com \nCan beginners attend?\nYes. The material will be taught in a way that beginners can apply immediately\, while still giving depth to experienced students. \nCan people from other schools attend?\nYes. Visitors are welcome. \n\n\nAditional Study Options\n \nIf you want to get more out of this seminar (or show up already speaking the same language)\, you can study Professor Alan Baker’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu methods ahead of time and access supporting material through his BJJ page here: https://sifualanbaker.com/alan-baker-brazilian-jiu-jitsu/ \nThis is where you can dig into Alan’s Living Mechanics approach to Jiu-Jitsu: the core principles that make positions work\, how to build timing and pressure without relying on size\, and how Alan connects tactics\, strategy\, and body mechanics into a functional game you can actually apply. If you want to sharpen your fundamentals and get familiar with the training concepts we’ll be using at the seminar\, start there and come in ready to train. \n  \n\nLocation & Academy Details\n\nOoltewah Jiu-Jitsu Academy is a training facility in the Ooltewah and Collegedale area that emphasizes practical\, “real world” skill building through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and related combat sports. Their stated focus is authentic self-defense\, with training that supports Gracie Jiu-Jitsu\, Combat Submission Wrestling\, and Kickboxing as part of a well-rounded approach to personal development and functional martial arts practice.   \nThe academy positions itself as beginner-friendly and welcoming to all fitness levels\, with the expectation that consistent training builds conditioning\, mobility\, and confidence over time. On their FAQ\, they describe Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as a self-defense martial art built around leverage and control\, using holds\, throws\, and submissions in a way that helps smaller people defend against larger opponents.   \nFor families\, they also highlight youth training as a core offering\, noting that their kids program is designed to build confidence\, discipline\, focus\, and respect\, while keeping the environment energetic and fun for younger students. \nContact info: Ooltewah Jiu-Jitsu Academy\, 6711 Mountain View Rd\, Collegedale\, TN 37363\, email ooltewahjja@gmail.com\, phone (423) 667-2374 \n\n  \nSchedule An Event With Professor Alan \nWe’re already booking seminars\, workshops\, and training camps for 2026.
