SUMMARY:Combatives At The Lake - Alabama
DESCRIPTION:Alabama Combatives at the Lake\nC-Tac Training Day | July 18\, 2026\n9:00 AM to 12:30 P.M.  –  1:30 PM to 5:30 PM\nIf you are coming to Combatives at the Lake for one day in particular\, July 18 is the day to lock in.\nThis full training day will be led by Sifu Alan Baker and will center on the C-Tac Program\, with a major emphasis on the Weaponized Grappling curriculum. The focus is not sport. It is not theory without context. It is not disconnected technique collection. This is training designed around the realities of civilian self-protection\, everyday carry\, entangled weapons access\, and close-range violence. \nThroughout the day\, students will work through core elements of the C-Tac system built around a force continuum\, giving them a clearer understanding of how to apply the right tools at the right time under pressure. The material will be structured around the practical integration of everyday carry\, including the use and protection of the firearm\, bladed weapon\, and other potential urban weapons that may come into play in real-world environments. \nA major portion of the day will be dedicated to weapon-focused grappling\, one of the defining elements of the C-Tac curriculum. This material addresses what happens when distance collapses\, weapons are present\, and the fight becomes entangled. Students will train the skills needed to manage position\, access tools\, deny access to the opponent\, maintain control\, and function inside the chaos of grounded and clinched combat where weapons change everything. \nIn addition to the C-Tac core material\, selected elements from the Keysi Fighting Method will also be introduced as part of the assault-level portion of the training day. These pieces will support the overall theme of close-range functionality\, pressure\, structure\, and survival inside hard-contact environments. \nREGISTER HERE:\n  \n\n \nWhat You’ll Train On July 18\nSession One (9-12:30)\nIn Session One\, you will work through the core C-Tac perspective and foundational material. The method is built and trained around the force continuum\, giving the practitioner a structured progression of tools for different levels of conflict. \nTraining will begin with verbal tools and progress into soft-control options\, assault-level responses\, and lethal-force considerations. The goal is to provide the practitioner with solid\, functional options at each level of force\, while developing the ability to recognize when and how those tools may be appropriate. \nAt the assault level\, we will also explore selected elements from the Keysi Fighting Method. This material will help you build a stronger understanding of close-quarter pressure\, protective structure\, and functional response under stress. \nSession Two (1:30-5:30)\nIn Session Two\, we will take a deep dive into Weaponized Grappling\, one of the C-Tac subsystems. This session will explore how the presence of weapons changes the entire grappling environment\, including positional control\, transitions\, access\, denial\, and survival at close range. \nThis subsystem takes a unique approach. It is not simply a matter of adding weapons into traditional grappling training. Instead\, Weaponized Grappling examines how grappling must be specifically designed around weapon systems\, weapon access\, weapon retention\, and the realities of fighting in close-contact environments. The goal is to help the practitioner understand how weapons change the priorities\, mechanics\, and decision-making process once the fight enters grappling range. \n  \n \n\n \nWho This Day Is For\nThis training is ideal for serious civilians\, martial artists\, firearms practitioners\, protection professionals\, and coaches who want a deeper look at how close-range self-protection really works when weapons are part of the environment. \nIf your training has kept striking separate from grappling\, or firearms separate from entangled fighting\, this day will help close that gap. \nWhy This Matters\nMost people train these areas in isolation. They box without weapons. Grapple without access problems. Carry firearms without understanding what happens when someone crashes distance. Work knife material without integrating clinch or ground realities. \nThe C-Tac curriculum is built to tie those pieces together. \nThat is what makes July 18 such an important day inside this event. It is a full immersion into the part of the problem most people never train honestly. \nTrain the reality of entangled weapons access.\nTrain the integration of empty hand\, blade\, and firearm.\nTrain a system built for the real world. \n  \n\n \nREGISTER HERE:\n  \n\n \nWhat is Combatives at the Lake? \nCombatives at the Lake is a collaborative\, integrated training retreat built for serious students\, instructors\, and armed citizens who want more than a typical weekend seminar. Set in Double Springs\, Alabama\, the event combines combatives\, defensive firearms\, and medical training in one immersive environment designed to help people train across the full spectrum of civilian violence management. Rather than separating training from lodging and community\, the event brings everything together in one place with on-site housing\, shared meals\, matted training space\, and access to a nearby private range. The result is a more focused\, high-value experience with less wasted time\, more meaningful reps\, and stronger connections between the people involved. \nWhat makes Combatives at the Lake different is its collaborative model and the environment itself. Instructors train alongside students\, experienced coaches contribute as training partners\, and the shared setting creates a deeper level of learning than most traditional events. The curriculum is built around practical\, real-world application and may include managing unknown contacts\, verbal and movement-based problem solving\, legally justifiable force\, clinch and ground issues for armed citizens\, the use of empty hand\, less-lethal tools\, edged weapons\, and firearms\, along with medical considerations and survival mindset. It is not built around personality or ego. It is built around training\, community\, and the kind of integration that helps people leave more capable\, more connected\, and better prepared. \nMORE INFO HERE \n\n  \nTaught By Sifu Alan Baker \n \nProfessor Alan Baker is a high-performance coach\, internationally recognized martial arts and self-defense expert\, and the founder of the Civilian Tactical Training Association and the C-Tac® Program. With over 46 years of continuous experience in the martial arts\, fitness\, and personal protection fields\, he has trained continuously since 1981 and has taught professionally since 1990. His work is centered on helping students\, instructors\, and professionals develop functional combative skills that hold up under pressure and apply in the realities of modern violence. Alan founded C-Tac® in 2015 to create a more complete and honest approach to civilian self-protection and combative development. The program was built to integrate striking\, weapons\, grappling\, situational awareness\, and force-continuum decision-making into one usable system. Rather than teaching isolated skills\, C-Tac® is designed to help students understand how empty hand\, firearm\, blade\, and environmental factors intersect in real-world conflict. A major emphasis of the program is developing adaptable\, legally defensible\, and performance-driven responses for close-range violence\, entangled fights\, and weapon-based problems. In the tactical training field\, Alan has taught countermeasures\, defensive tactics\, firearms\, and edged-weapon programs to Fortune 500 corporate security teams\, law enforcement personnel\, and SWAT teams throughout the United States. He has also had the privilege of working with and designing training programs for the Department of Defense and other specialized government and military organizations. His experience in this arena has helped shape the applied structure and operational focus of the C-Tac® curriculum. Alan is a certified Personal Protection Specialist and serves as the Defensive Tactics Instructor for The Executive Protection Institute in Clarke County\, Virginia. He also teaches Vehicle-Centric Defensive Tactics for the Vehicle Dynamics Institute in New Jersey. Both EPI and VDI are widely recognized as top-level schools in the world of executive protection\, tactical driving\, and high-end security training. These experiences continue to influence the structure\, relevance\, and real-world application of his training systems. In addition to his tactical background\, Alan has attained black belt rank or higher in multiple martial arts systems and instructor-level certifications under some of the most respected names in the industry\, including Guro Dan Inosanto\, Master Pedro Sauer\, Sifu Francis Fong\, Master Erik Paulson\, Ajarn Chai Sirisute\, Ajarn Greg Nelson\, Tuhon Tim Waid\, and Coach Justo Dieguez. His background in Filipino Kali\, Jeet Kune Do\, Muay Thai\, Silat\, grappling\, and multiple self-protection systems gives him a broad and integrated base from which to teach. Through seminars\, instructor development\, and association training\, Alan’s mission is to build capable people and provide a system of training that is practical\, pressure-tested\, and rooted in real application. His focus is not on tradition for tradition’s sake\, but on developing individuals who can think clearly\, move efficiently\, and perform effectively when it matters most. \n\nAdditional Study Options\nThe C-Tac® Program\nIf you want to get more out of this event\, or show up already speaking the same language\, take some time to study the supporting material inside the C-Tac program. The system was built to provide a clear framework for practical self-defense training\, including awareness\, range management\, and integrated weapons access. Reviewing the material ahead of time will help you understand the concepts behind how we train and why the methods work. \nInside the program you’ll find a structured path for developing the core principles we’ll be working with during the event. This includes movement\, positioning\, timing\, and the integration of striking\, grappling\, and weapon access within a realistic self-defense context. If you want to sharpen your fundamentals and arrive already dialed in\, this is a great place to begin. \nC-Tac was developed to give students a reliable source of ongoing training\, even if they can’t work with me in person regularly. Through the online platform\, you’ll gain access to structured curriculum\, drills\, and instructional material that you can study at your own pace. You can train solo\, work with a partner\, or use it to support what you are already doing in your gym. \nFor those who want to go deeper\, the online training connects directly to live training opportunities through instructor camps\, seminars\, and other events throughout the year. The online material provides the roadmap. The in-person training refines it through coaching\, corrections\, and pressure-tested work. \nLearn more here: https://civilianTacticalcoach.com\n  \n\n  \n  \nSchedule An Event With Sifu Alan \n \nWe are currently scheduling seminars\, workshops\, private training\, and multi-day camps with Sifu Alan Baker up to a year in advance. SUMMARY:Civilian Tactical Instructor Camp
DESCRIPTION:THE C-TAC SELF-DEFENSE PROGRAM \nBridging The Gap Between Martial Arts And Self-Protection. \nAre you searching for a comprehensive self-defense system that goes beyond physical techniques? Look no further than the C-Tac® System. Designed to equip individuals with practical self-defense skills\, the C-Tac® System goes above and beyond by addressing various crucial aspects of personal protection. Let’s explore what sets the C-Tac® System apart and why it’s the right choice for those seeking a holistic approach to self-defense. \n  \nThe C-Tac® System Seamlessly Integrates Everyday Carry (EDC) \nIntegrating EDC principles into all of its training ensures that the tools and gear you carry daily are effectively utilized in self-defense scenarios. Our approach emphasizes the importance of being prepared with the right EDC items—whether it’s a knife\, flashlight\, or firearm\, and knowing how to deploy them efficiently under stress. Throughout our training\, you’ll learn how to incorporate your EDC into various defensive tactics\, blending these tools with your skills to maximize your protection. By making EDC an integral part of your training\, the C-Tac® System empowers you to be ready for any situation\, using the gear you have on hand every day. \nSituational Awareness \nin the C-Tac® System\, situational awareness is a fundamental component. Understanding your surroundings and being able to assess potential threats is crucial for personal safety. Our training focuses on honing your observation skills\, enhancing your ability to identify and assess potential dangers\, and developing a proactive mindset. We don’t just talk about situational awareness—we actively teach and practice techniques and drills designed to embed these critical skills into your nervous system. \nLegal Compliance \nSelf-defense should always operate within the confines of the law. With the C-Tac® System\, you’ll learn self-defense techniques that are not only effective but also legal. Our training emphasizes the importance of understanding the legal framework surrounding self-defense\, ensuring that you are equipped with the knowledge to make informed decisions in high-stress situations. \nPre-Fight Social Exchange \nRecognizing the signs of a potential confrontation before it escalates is essential. The C-Tac® System teaches you how to navigate pre-fight social exchanges\, diffusing conflicts and de-escalating situations whenever possible. By mastering effective communication and conflict resolution skills\, you can mitigate the need for physical confrontation. We ensure that everything we do remains within a framework that is both visually appropriate and socially acceptable. \nReasonable Force Continuum \nUnderstanding the concept of reasonable force is vital for self-defense. The C-Tac® System follows a carefully structured force continuum\, guiding you through appropriate responses based on the level of threat. By adhering to this continuum\, you will learn to apply force proportionately and ethically\, ensuring your actions are justified in the eyes of the law. \nIntegrated Firearms and Empty Hand Techniques \nThe C-Tac® System recognizes the role firearms play in personal protection. Our training not only covers empty hand techniques but also integrates firearm skills seamlessly. You will learn how to effectively combine the use of firearms with empty hand techniques\, empowering you to handle diverse self-defense scenarios with confidence. \nPractical Grappling for the Street \nGround fighting and grappling can be crucial in real-life altercations. The C-Tac® System strongly emphasizes practical grappling techniques specifically tailored for self-defense situations. Our training provides you with the necessary skills to defend yourself both standing up and on the ground\, preparing you for a range of scenarios. In Tac we study 6 areas of training on the ground: \n\nGrappling: A fundamental study of grappling that blends techniques and strategies from Jiu-Jitsu\, Combat Submission Wrestling (CSW)\, Catch Wrestling\, and Shoot Boxing. This integrated approach emphasizes a more aggressive and effective style\, designed to enhance your versatility and adaptability in combat scenarios.\nEDC Grappling: When weapon systems are introduced into the grappling environment\, fundamental changes must be made. These adjustments impact everything from mechanics and techniques to movement itself. EDC Grappling addresses these critical shifts\, ensuring your grappling skills are effective and adaptable in scenarios involving everyday carry (EDC) weapons.\nAnti-Grappling: Anti- or counter-grappling is the study of the grappling environment\, focusing on understanding its dynamics and learning how to use them to your advantage in a fight. This approach equips you with strategies to neutralize or counter grappling techniques effectively\, turning the tables on your opponent.\nGround Fighting: When you incorporate weapons\, striking\, multiple opponents\, and challenging environments like sidewalks or parking lots\, the dynamics of ground fighting completely change. This approach prepares you for real-world scenarios where adaptability\, awareness\, and tactical thinking are essential for survival.\nDog Boxing: Dog Boxing focuses on the art of “out of position” fighting\, teaching you how to effectively defend and attack when you’re in unconventional or disadvantaged positions. It’s a specialized study designed to prepare you for real-world scenarios where perfect form and positioning aren’t always an option.\nGrounded Weapons Fighting: This isn’t about grappling with a firearm; it’s about applying the tactical principles typically used while standing—such as maintaining distance\, achieving a superior angle\, and controlling timing—all within the context of being on the ground. These strategies go beyond the limitations of traditional grappling to give you a more comprehensive approach to ground-based combat with weapons.\n\nJoin the Team Here: https://civtaccoach.com/ \n  \n  \nC-Tac® strives to bring real-world tactical training to the civilian world.\nTurn on any TV\, watch the news\, and you will see how changes in today’s world and our culture are creating the need for information and training that exceeds what a regular martial art school or Karate program has to offer. \nThe many benefits of martial arts in our culture have been proven over time and are more than mentioned here. Still\, today’s mar \n \ntial arts community does not offer the experience\, background\, or knowledge needed to effectively meet the needs of industries that need more narrow\, specialized applications. \nToday\, many “self-defense” instructors received their certification to teach by attending a three-day weekend seminar. Many groups in the martial arts that call themselves “martial arts practitioners” claim to offer solutions for today’s needs. Still\, when you peel back the layers of the so-called “realistic programs\,” they generally turn out to be just well-marketed nonsense that was pieced together to have something to sell to the unknowing civilian. \nC-Tac will give you a well-rounded\, effective personal protection plan that will cover intelligent threat assessment and planning\, essential firearm use and close-quarter manipulation (Disarms\, Weapon Retention)\, a practical and realistic defensive tactic (Self-Defense) that will work in multiple environments\, including hallways\, doorways\, ground fighting\, and in and around motor vehicles – to name a few. \nThe C-Tac system was developed to mentally and physically prepare you for dangerous situations by teaching you pre-fight conflict-resolution techniques and situational awareness. Both beginners and advanced students can train and become proficient in C-Tac. \nYou will study the urban weapons that allow you to take everyday objects and use them as tools in a threatening encounter. Also\, as part of the urban weapons program\, we show you how to use a bladed weapon or how to defend against the bladed weapon if someone attempts to use one on you. \nThere are two methods of study through the association. One is the student level which primarily involves studying with a certified instructor or studying virtually through the online video Training Academy on this website. Additionally\, the student can also attend one of the many seminars that Coach Baker teaches around the United States annually. The second option is for the Professional Martial Artist that is looking to implement the C-Tac program into their schedule at the Academy. The second option is achieved through the instructor training program. \n  \nJoin the Team Here: https://civtaccoach.com/ \n

The conference runs 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM each day\, with additional evening sessions on select topics.\n👇 Register HERE 👇 \nhttps://buy.stripe.com/9B600j3nldWd6AadVz7EQ0T\n\n \nLocation \n\nThis event will be at the Atlanta Martial Arts Center in Woodstock\, Georgia:\nwww.atlantamartialartscenter.com\n80 Parkway 575\, Suite 110 Woodstock\, GA 30188\n  \n\n\n   \nTHE C-TAC SELF-DEFENSE PROGRAM \nBridging The Gap Between Martial Arts And Self-Protection.\nAre you searching for a comprehensive self-defense system that goes beyond physical techniques? These strategies go beyond the limitations of traditional grappling to give you a more comprehensive approach to ground-based combat with weapons.\n\n\n  \nC-Tac® strives to bring real-world tactical training to the civilian world.\nTurn on any TV\, watch the news\, and you will see how changes in today’s world and our culture are creating the need for information and training that exceeds what a regular martial art school or Karate program has to offer. \n  \n\n  \nAdditional Study Options\nIf you want to get more out of this C-Tac training (or show up already speaking the same language)\, take a little time to study the supporting material ahead of the event.
